I am delighted to pass on the news that Charlotte Burke will be taking on the HQ Lettings Officer role for our Management Committee with immediate effect. Charlotte has all of the paperwork regarding the hire of our hall and can be contacted on 01303 812123 or by email on CJRBURKE@HOTMAIL.COM
You can also read about our monthly paper collections in this month's Parish News which highlights that the funds we receive from the paper collections are helping the Management Committee subsidise around 50 of our Scouts and Guides and their Leaders to go to the Kent International Jamboree which is being held at the Kent County Showground at Detling this year.
If anyone else wants to join in with any of our activities either as part of the Scout or Guide Movements, as a Leader, or occasional helper, please contact Ian Plowright, Julia Adams or Jon Rose.

Rainbows remain closed, since 2008.   After twelve years of having a successful Rainbow unit, it is now closed due to lack of leadership. Please contact Divisional Commissioner Becky Hinnells (contact 01233 650887 after 6pm) if you would like to become involved.
Group growth.   It is pleasing to report that all units are flourishing and in some cases it has been necessary to have waiting lists for potential members. Where possible preference is given to village youngsters, however our membership covers a very wide area and places are quickly filled. Please contact unit leaders well in advance, if you would like your child to join us! A minimum of 6 months notice or more may be beneficial. Although Guiding is for girls only, all Scout sections accept boys and girls. The Group is complemented by a strong and dedicated team of volunteer leaders and helpers. Please see individual unit reports which follow in our News pages and especially details about the intention to launch a new Guides ‘Senior Section’ in Brabourne & Smeeth.
HQ hire – Scouts and Guides Headquarters.   Our well-appointed premises are available for hire, when not in use by our own units. The headquarters is particularly suitable for those special occasions: children’s birthday parties, christening receptions or for local association meetings in comfortable surroundings. Please contact our Letting Officer: Anne Mapley on 01303 812769 for further information
